This page explains in plain English how Flinzo works today. If anything here is unclear, write to support@flinzoai.com and we will answer.
Flinzo is built on open-source software. This page is generated from the project's licence registry, which in turn is generated from the installed dependency tree, so it reflects what is actually in the product rather than what someone remembered to add.
1. How we handle third-party licences
Three rules, enforced by the build rather than by review. Every dependency must have a registry entry, so a package with an unknown licence fails the build instead of shipping quietly. Network-copyleft licences — AGPL and SSPL — are blocked outright, because a hosted service cannot satisfy them without opening its source. Copyleft and attribution licences such as MPL-2.0, the LGPL family and CC-BY require a human approval on the record, so they can never be pulled in automatically.
If you believe we have used something without honouring its licence, tell us and we will fix it.

Every package in the dependency tree that ships or builds Flinzo, with the licence declared by the package itself. This list is generated from the actual installed tree, not maintained by hand.

3. Bundled fonts and their licence texts
Flinzo serves its own typefaces rather than loading them from a third-party CDN. These font files are delivered to your browser, so their licences travel with them. All four are licensed under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1. None of the files has been modified or renamed.

4. FFmpeg and other external programs
FFmpeg does all of the file-level video work in Flinzo: probing, cutting, concatenation, reframing, audio mixing, compositing the caption overlay, and encoding. We invoke it as a separate operating-system process with an argument list. We do not link against libavcodec, libavformat or any other FFmpeg library, we embed no FFmpeg code in our own binaries, and we do not distribute the FFmpeg binary to anyone.
FFmpeg is free software. Depending on how it is configured at build time it is covered by the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later, or by the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later — the GPL applies when the build enables GPL-licensed components. The build we use in development reports GNU General Public License version 3 or later. Complete corresponding source code for FFmpeg is published by the FFmpeg project at ffmpeg.org, and if you receive an FFmpeg binary from us we will provide the source for that binary on request.

Patent licensing for video codecs is a separate matter from software licensing, and no software licence grants patent rights in H.264 or HEVC. We are assessing that exposure independently.
